CREATIVE’s Own - Taking the Plunge

by Cindy Baumann, Principle, CREATIVE Communication and Design

For those who might not know us, CREATIVE is a great strategic marketing partner. We’re a company that likes to dig in and dive deeper – immersing ourselves in our client’s businesses in order to create efficient, effective plans that will prompt action from prospective customers.  However, at CREATIVE, we’re much more than our work. We’re friends, we’re family, and we like to give back to our communities.

February 23rd, two of our own, Bianca and DeAnna, will be participating in the “Freezin’ for a Reason” Polar Bear Plunge in Wausau, Wisconsin. This annual event helps to support Special Olympics Wisconsin (SOWI), which utilizes the funds raised to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with disabilities.

So what exactly is the Polar Plunge? Registered “plungers” raise donations and then, the day of the plunge, they leap into an icy body of water. Sound crazy? It is. However, if you don’t want to actually take the plunge, there are still several other ways to participate. People can also register as “Too Chicken to Plunge”, participate in the “Toss Your Boss” event, or you can simply volunteer at the event.

DeAnna and Bianca are both registered as “plungers”. Wish them both well as they prepare to immerse themselves into the icy winter waters of Sunnyvale Man Made Park in Wausau on February 23rd.  Pictures will be posted, so make sure you’re following CREATIVE’s Twitter and Facebook feeds!
